PART 1

Opening


  • Duration:  ~20 minutes

Intention setting & reflection

I’ll guide you through the focus of our session - we’re leaning into the wisdom within YOU. You know you best, promise.

Breathing pattern how-to

We’ll do a quick review of the breathing pattern used during the class. (It’s not complicated and we’ll use only one pattern other than normal nasal breathing!)

Grounding meditation

We’ll get into it by doing a grounding meditation to allow you to start to settle in your body. Past participants have RAVED about this part alone.


PART 2

Active Breathing & Expression

  • Duration:  ~30 minutes

  • Breathing pattern: active through the mouth (belly ~80%, chest ~20%, exhale)

  • * See section below for list of contraindications

Now we’re into the bulk of our class! We’ll start out nice and slow and I’ll guide you the entire time. You’ll be invited to meet your body exactly where you are.

In this part of the class we’ll use the active breathing technique.

The rhythm of the music will gradually increase until we reach the climax of our session, or our expression song.

You may feel any number of sensations in your body. They're all completely normal and part of the process! I'll invite you to match where your body is at. Know that if it becomes too intense at any point, you can slow down the breath.

We’ll gradually build until the climax of the class, the expression song.

I'll invite you to express through your body in whatever way feels best. I'll encourage you to really go for it and let out a big primal scream!!!

This will help you let go of any stuck energy that is no longer serving you. You can also shake, wiggle, yell, laugh, cry, or whatever your body is guiding you towards.


PART 3

Rest & Receive

  • Duration:  ~10 minutes

  • Breathing pattern: relaxed normal breathing in and out through the nose

This time a lighter more chill set of music will play allowing you to just soak in all of the goodness that you just experienced.

It's during this time that you may have additional revelations or insights that come through.


PART 4

Outro

  • Duration:  ~10 minutes

I'll read a poem, then gently invite you back into the present moment. We'll have a few minutes for journaling and then if you’d like, to share your experience.

Breathwork is not for everyone — and that’s okay! If you have any hesitations, please consult a medical professional before participating in a class.

You have full control over your body your entire session.

You may experience any number of sensations, and these are completely normal. If something begins to feel too intense, you can stay with the breath or you can reduce the intensity by slowing down your breath.

  • Tingling in your arms, fingers, and other places in your body.

  • Chills

  • Sweating

  • Lobster Claws (tetany)

  • Tightness in your jaw/face/mouth

  • Feeling cold / hot

  • Stuck emotions rising to the surface

  • Old memories that need healing

  • Resistance (ego telling you to stop)

  • Dry mouth

  • Coughing, laughing, yelling, moans

    • Choose a Comfortable Place: Yoga mat, bed, or rug works well.

    • Set Up Your Audio: Music is an integral part of the experience (and I will provide). Use headphones or any device you prefer.

    • Avoid Eating a Big Meal: Try not to eat heavy meals within an hour before the session.

    • Comfortable clothing: Wear loose fitting clothes and layers to adjust to temperature changes

    • Cozy blanket: For warmth and comfort

    • Place to lie down: Your bed, yoga mat, or rug

    • Two extra pillows: One for knee support (optional), one for primal scream (if you have others around you do not wish to have hear you)

    • No pillow under your head: Keep your head flat to support your airway

    • Sleep mask (optional): Helps block out light and stay focused on your experience

    • Glass of water (optional): Staying hydrated supports your breathwork experience

    • Journal: Capture any insights or reflections at the beginning & outro of our class

    • Chapstick (optional): Extra hydration for lips
